As a matter of fact tanning temporarily masks the acne, but due to too much exposure it can damage or irritate and also causes premature ageing and also lead to skin cancer. Using sunscreen lotion with SPF at least 15 would help.
Then the next myth is about oily foods. Do they cause Acne? Although too much of oily foods is not a good habit, there has been no evidence to support this statement. But it was found that in some persons who eat more chocolates depending upon their body condition secretion of sebum was more. The next famous myth is that washing your face frequently can reduce acne. But this is a myth as too mush washing would make your skin dry and cause more breakouts. It is good to wash face with cold water but this should be done moderately. People with acne should avoid scrubbing their face as it might cause redness and a soar skin and it may leave a permanent mark.
The next absurd thing that the people affected with acne would do is squeezing out the puss out of the pimple. They believe that doing this will help to get rid of the acne, but on the other hand it will still aggravate the condition by inducing more and more bacteria. So people should try to keep their hands off the acne affected parts of the body.
Another confusing matter is the usage of make-up. Make up does not do any harm as long as they are branded ones. If some cheap quality is used then it will be one of the major reasons to aggravate the present situation. Hence minimal as well as quality use of make-up is suggested. If it is to be used the person should check for nonacnegenic or noncomedogenicones in the label.
Then there is a popular and a funny belief that if there are breakouts continuously then there is still a formation of acne. It is not true as these are the only results of medication.
