What Is Acne And What Are The Reasons For It?

Acne
Acne is derived from the Greek word “akme” which means “the highest point”, also called as “point” or “spot”. Acne is generally termed for blocked pores, pimples, white and blackheads that usually appear on the face, upper arms, neck and other parts of body.
Acne is mainly caused by the oil glands of the skin when secreted excessively. It’s a skin state that happens due to too much production of sebum, an oily liquid. This oil is excessively produced due to the variations in the male hormone count.
The pores of our skin are connected to the oil glands under the dermis through follicles or small canals. Thus acne is caused when these pores are blocked due to various conditions. Though not hazardous it creates a scar on the skin. Mild acne typically resolves by time and it may not have any impact of a deep scar, but when not treated properly, the scar it leaves on the skin might be permanent and irritating. It is very widespread among the teenagers and adults up to a particular age.
